It’s been a few weeks since I was laid off, and nothing promising has landed yet. I keep hearing stories about how this is supposed to turn into a fresh start, but right now it’s just applications and silence. Severance buys some time, not peace of mind. I’m trying to believe the positive turn comes later, even if it’s hard to see from here.

Waiting for Godot ?
@pj this suggests to me that you were on the MTV gravy train for way too long.
I hope you weren't one of the many people publicly moaning about the company and management, saying it would be great if I left, before you were laid off.
We all knew it's a sh-t market out there for media people
October as well. Amazing how in one had an enormous weight has been lifted yet the job market is outrageously discouraging. Everything is very automated so I try to remind myself not to take immediate rejections personally. It seems to be a new system to learn to navigate. Not as it used to be at all.
300-600 applications for a callback is "normal" in this market. Hang in there!!
I was also in October. Hang in there. I haven’t either, but a lot of recruiters have told me it will be a matter of time, and to just wait out the storm as best as you can.
Hang in there. I was laid off in Oct, the market has been really rough but keep going. The good news at least I’m no longer feeling extreme stress going to work at that place every day
