Stock Together/ Base Pay Increases

Anyone seen BPI yet? Curious to see if Stock together is really gone. No longer shows on open job reqs, VZ benefits external page or in Total rewards.

Will there actually be raises this year? Or will they give people nonsense like 1 or 2% and not keep up with inflation at all?

@a9c The grants themselves were every year, but the vesting/payout for each grant is over 3 tranches.

Are you guys getting one set of RSU grants every 3 years?

Please don't go away just yet. I need it to be part of my future early retirement package 📦

@nq this would be depending on folks preference, I would like that tax free into 401k old way, of course in equivalent amount 😁

@nz If what you said was a true story your direct should not be reporting their RSUs as income, they aren't until they vest.

They're cutting benefits to line the pockets of the suits.

@nz - at the end of the day it is real money of course -- but most lenders do not count RSUs in the Debt To Income calculation, therefore would not affect someone qualifying for a loan.

@nq I hope not. The old 401k was very different. Now this makes up real taxable annual income for employees. I have one employee that was about to buy a house but things like this impact them as this takes away from their annual income assuming it doesn't get funded. This new rollout was given to increase annual pay but put a three year vest to improve employee retention instead of just raising with merit increases.

@gj I wonder if they will go back to 401K bonus or just scrap LTI entirely. We've had it in some form for several years now.

@cr stock together started during the first Trump admin when corporate taxes were reduced. At the time, most companies were giving a lump sum payout bc technically it was the employees money that was taken from their check. VZ decided to implement stock together rather than give employees their money back.

@hc so you make stuff up as you go. Show home where the LTI was ended. Oh you can't

Comp sheet says "Information regarding 2026 Stock Together Program will be communicated later in the year once approved."

No stock together on comp sheets today. Delayed due to frontier merger, and may not even be approved post-merger. “Look for details to be released later in the year”. Thanks a lot Dan the hatchet man! A huge win for employee morale yet another benefit disappearing!

When does the pay increase info come out?

Still there, if they would get rid of it. I would think the entire thing would be vested and paid out this year. It's all funny money to vz since nothing is tangible, except one year of actual shares.

@OP it is still in my total rewards?

@gj totally agree. This changed to be used as a way to increase wages but pushed them out over 3 years and used as an incentive to stay with the company. This was implemented instead of larger pay increases. This would be a large annual pay decrease for many.

"VZ is always changing something to take away from the employees"

Actually Stock Together was the opposite of that. We went from a small 401k bonus contribution to a fairly sizable annual cash reward (especially when you got 3 vests in a year).

I remember when it was first announced that it was too good to be true.

Just be prepared to be disappointed...... no raise will ever be big even, VZ is always changing something to take away from the employees (more than they give).

IF stock together goes away and is not replaced, that would be a sad state of affairs for sure.

That would be very disappointing if they eliminate Stock Together. It's like getting a 6% or so pay cut (at least for me).

But in leadership's minds, we should be grateful to just have a job.

@cr before Stock Together there was a 1-3% bonus depending on company performance paid directly into your 401k the same time of year. Problem with that is the company had to come up with cash so they seemed to prefer using stock as a comp instead. If they eliminate stock together that says they don’t want to come up with cash or stock.

Stock together gone? If so next step could be moving from fidelity for 401k and any other Rsu replacement. Glad I’m gone. Cell service is LTE since Jan outage

I don't know the long history of stock together or CPS prior to that. While anything can happen, isnt it irregular to eliminate such a large financial component to someone's comp without replacing it with something comparable? What was it like before stock together?

BPI has NEVER kept up with inflation. If you are low in your payline and rated 5, you MIGHT see 3%, but 1-2% seems to be the norm since HR took over all the planning. Stock Together is gone. Might they do something else? Possible. Time will tell.
