Does anybody know what the “Grand Total” of lay offs was for the week? Not including the DPRs and such in the field. Just the Support office people this week?

I was impacted last week. The only warning I had was that I had a "business update" meeting invite sent at 5:30 pm for the next day. People were telling me that they were sorry to hear I was getting let go but I'll be fine.
I was already in job search mode and am confident I will find another opportunity soon. I knew layoffs were coming so I wasn't that surprised when it happened and I was doing something about it versus just waiting for something to happen. So for those who are still left at Walgreens, start looking for a new job and you'll be less stressed! I read somewhere that it takes 6 months on average to find a new job so you may as well start now if you haven't already.
I'll definitely miss all the great people I met and built relationships with at Walgreens. I'm not bitter or angry about being let go. The company is going to always do what's best for them so you have to look out for yourself. I'm thankful to have been a part of Walgreens actually and was not expecting to stay with them till I retired. I don't think there's any company out there anymore that you can work at for a long time and retire there. Just the way it is.
All the best to everyone out there and be proactive about doing what's best for you!
GET OUT NOW!!! There WILL be more layoffs later in the year! This was just the first round.
Better to look for a job while you have one. Walgreens is going down the drain and Sycamore doesn't give a damn about the employees.
All corporations are greedy but Walgreens is one of the worst I've seen. RUN!!!!
Full disclosure I was impacted by this layoff. Tbh I would just run away unless you know you will get a good package. Walgreens is in a downward spiral. I never expected such big layoffs. There will be another one November as they don't want to pay bonuses. They don't care. Plus now that I will stop being in walgreens insurnace there are better pharmacy service out there. Too bad as there are many dedicated people but this company will be saved by bankruptcy. I kind of knew but my package was good and it was worthwhile to stay. I will be fine but if you live from pay check to paycheck run if you can ....
@OP have it on good authority that it was ~1,000 total - 300 field and 700 corporate/head office.
I don't even think they'll tell us at the TH next week.
