Medicare after termination

They say you can apply within 30 days to Medicare after your termination. Does anybody know when actually Medicare enrollment starts? In 2 month? January 1? Or when?

Medicare is confusing to navigate. I just opted out of Macy's medical coverage for Medicare. I went to the local library and took the book out "Medicare for Dummies". It's a wealth of information written plainly. Also go to Medicare.gov and you can get information there as well. Good luck to you.

If you have a Life change in employment status and lost health coverage, you can apply immediately.

Maybe you mean Medicaid or one of the plans under the Affordable Care Act?

I believe that if you are 65 years old, and retire you can still get Medicare benefits ! Don’t forget that Medicare only covers 80% of medical benefits! You will also need a supplemental health insurance to cover the cost of 20% that you will need to pay to make up the difference that Medicare pays! Also you will need the part D prescription dr-g coverage too!
