@nq DG culture has been dead for 20 years. EMC could never figure out how to innovate on the Clariion/CX platform, hence NetApp growth and the arrival of Pure.
Don't blame legacy Dell - this happened on EMC's watch. Dell save EMC's a-s by doing the OEM deal with EMC - John Hanlon was a visionary in this respect.
In one final swoop, Dell destroyed all remaining remnants of EMC and Data General IP and culture. Now that place has no true soul left. Get out of that Hellish place.
Broadcom ki-led the incentive to sell it and Dell isn’t interested in promoting some hostile company’s IP.
The simple answer is the product died when VMware was spun back out to Broadcom.
Dell Engineering simply does not have the Virtual or Cloud Infrastructure expertise and skill set to keep it going. Quality has tanked, customers are throwing it out, and Broadcom/VMware is giving Dell the finger about updates. I don't blame them after Dell nearly destroyed VMware.
Don’t you remember rail is no longer a thing
