At least there's still severance

I'm not going to be surprised if in the future that's no longer an option. After all, it's not mandated by law, so I can definitely see this leadership deciding it's no longer "in the company's best interest" to keep paying it.

@a4 I believe if you are put on admin leave, you get paid your full salary and benefits until the end of the admin leave. Then you are offered subsidized COBRA depending on years of service.

Remember that severance is not a charity gift to you from the company. In exchange for severance, you are waiving your rights to hold the company accountable in the future.

Paying severance is profitable for the company. They would be paying a lot more from lawsuits, if severance agreements are not signed.

Absolutely agree...

Take whatever you can get and GTFO this absolute disaster of a company.

Currently Sycamore is making Kmart look like a successful business.
