New Fulfillment sleds are a POS

I suppose this has been posted before. This has to be the worst technology I've ever worked with. IDK how people get their jobs done.

I'm OP and good to know other stores are in the same boat. Early people get the old sleds which work so much better. I tried the newer ones and gave up after 20 min of trying to connect, etc and I picked by sight. Don't roll out new tech in Q4.

I thought it was only my store! We received that and they were telling us we could only use that but sc--w it! We went back to the old g-ns because we can't do work with the new sleds that don't work at all

I'm one in fulfilment too with a high work ethic, my team mates are completely demoralized after a new ovm came in and has no freaking clue on how to run store ops. The store manager is a vet in retail 40+ years and doesn't bat an eye at this disaster and doesn't realize the root of the problem. In my time here I have never seen fulfillment drop to its f'in knees, no hours, no help, no training. IPCs get left behind for the following morning, orders get shipped out wrong, BOPS are extremely late. No one cares anymore, including me now as I gotta disconnect for my own mental health. This is your stressless work environment Jeffy.

I go to work In fufillment everyday…..with the best intentions and work ethic to get orders out to our customers. I understand great store environments and service. Unfortunately I work in a company and store that cripples and sabotages us with non functioning equipment, apathy and piles of clothes on the floor and stock heaped in back stock rooms. Macys is such a hard place to work when you are a support person who cares and has high standards. I listen to a prerecorded messages on my headset from Jeff Genette thanking me for all my work…so disingenuous. You are collecting your big salary as are others on top while you are responsible for running dirty, disastrous stores. You’ve cut key players and denigrated the Macys name so you can no longer attract top talent. Under your leadership, Macys stores are in sad ,dirty environments with no or spotty customer service and mediocre ,inexperienced and d-mb store leaders. Where will this lead? So ,so , sad……for Americas “ dept store” . You and your peers can walk away one day with money and benefits …..knowing you led a once great stores to being a big messes.

The equipment is also bad, you need 3m adhesive tape to keep the new sleds from disconnecting (and it still does, because of the software flustercuck) OneX will crash on you if it cant communicate with the sled. I gave up and im back to the old zebra sleds.

The equipment isn't the problem. The issue is the software that has to be cobbled together to work with legacy systems and barely aqueduct store network infrastructure. Did you every try to use Macys free wifi in the store, it runs on the same crummy network as the handheld units. Our NCR person laughs about the fact that he has better connectivity and bandwidth at his house than we do for the entire store. You can't save your way to success.
