Anyone know the answer?? When you call HR they are useless. Apparently its a formula but no one knows anything. I’ve seriously had it with this Company. I will fight right be side my union brothers and sisters if theres no contract but I really need to leave this toxic environment. Im only 51 not eligible for medicare so I would like to know what the out of pocket expense is. I literally had one HR rep tell me 27-34k per year theres no way thats true. And my union reps are useless too.

Pre Medicare in mid Atlantic single coverage is $400 mo. This is up from $220 last year. This is because the caps were exceeded (the amount Verizon will pay per employee per year) and therefore the retiree makes up the difference. The current union negotiations hopefully will address this. It was last negotiated in 2016. Medicare eligible retiree healthcare premiums, at the moment is $0.
My husband's is on CWA retiree health insurance and it costs $179 a month just for him. The copays are really low $10 for a doctor and $15 for a specialist. I've worked for a company that managed health benefits for different companies and I can tell you that premium is really low compared to what non-union retirees pay.
union sc--wed their members over in 2010 and in 2016
@OP HR = corporate PR agency
I am not sure of the formula, but I have been on conference calls about this issue. My cost would be about $7000 a year. The union dropped the ball big time with this issue.
