Something is happening. No clue what. But all associates were instructed to work from home tomorrow.

@b7 It’s most likely no coincidence that this is happening shortly after the launch of ChatGPT Enterprise. All part of the Deloitte marketing overhaul plan.
@b6 my God, that would be insane. I really hope you’re wrong :(
Abandon ship. Abandon ship
@b6 outsourcing specialized marketing sounds like a nightmare to implement
I blame the last year’s over-obsession with AI
@a5 The more I process this, the more I feel it is an announcement about a large scale outsourcing event. I guess MC thinks we will happily train our Accenture or TCS replacements. Sure way to
continue the T. Rowe doom loop.
@b4 Its global marketing and global distribution enablement. No sales teams were including (usi, America's, ii or rps)
@b0 OP - is it GD as well as GM?
@az The meeting is for Global Marketing and Global Distribution Enablement. The RPS, II, and USI marketing depts were moved out of the BUs last year and into Global Marketing. So from the the Global Marketing standpoint, the BUs would not be included.
@az cause RPS layoffs have happened a while back. Now it’s the turn of Global marketing.
@az it's only marketing, I don't think any distribution
Curious why RPS wasn’t invited
@as the UK meeting has the same passcode as the US meeting, maybe it's just zoom webinar logistics that they are sent out separately. APAC meeting obviously would need to be in their time zone.
@aq thats weird! Is that a legal thing, that UK/EMEA have different legal employment conditions they have to meet vs US? Otherwise why have a completely separate meeting at the same time? Also I thought Dee was leading this but she can’t lead two meetings at once…
@OP You know what is happening. Been on the cards for months,
@ak EMEA associates have their meeting at the same time. Different invitations but believe it’s the same zoom.
If this is their idea of doing a better job with layoff announcements, they’re going in the wrong direction.
Missing: dignity
Any clues from the international offices if anything happened to them already? Or will they do US first?
@ag They realized they didn’t have to behave any better than anyone else. When Amazon, Meta, Blackrock and all the other companies were allowed to get away with treating their employees like sh-t, Trowe followed suit. They used to hold themselves to a higher standard until the greed took over.
@ag I was just thinking the same thing. This approach is so terrible.
@ac really feels like they are just becoming more and more cruel and callous with how they decide to announce layoffs. It used to be something carefully considered and done with as much grace as possible and as infrequent as possible. Now they are happy to let us all sit on this for 24 hours and then have to wait even longer after the meeting to see if we get the dreaded “invite.” This company used to treat people with dignity.
@ac I'd think individual meeting invites will go out after the big meeting concludes. Otherwise impacted people would have advance notice and they want to control the narrative by making the announcement first and putting whatever spin on it...
Could someone clarify the sequencing here? In past distribution layoffs, associates were notified first, and then a larger meeting was scheduled later that morning. This time, it appears everyone received the invite to the large meeting at the same time and no one was intentionally left off.
Does this mean individual meeting notifications will be sent today or tonight, with those meetings occurring after the larger meeting? Or will the individual meeting invites go out only after the larger meeting concludes?
@aa oh cr-p. Well it seems we have our answer!
@a8 yes they were told to WFH that day.
@a6 this seems the most logical & likely. And mandatory WFH so people don't have to witness their colleagues getting the dreaded call or email afterward. Did they have the Tech org all WFH in that meeting you're referencing?
@a3 it may be similar to the tech lay off in October. They announced on the call they will be doing layoffs and that following the call people will receive an email if they’re impacted
Are we all getting outsourced to Accenture?? Is that even possible??
This has to be more layoffs if they are instructing everyone to work from home.
My guess (just a guess) is that the subset being terminated have all received a separate email instructing them to be on a different call (i.e. with their boss and an HR rep) shortly afterwards.
Or maybe they're going to announce a full-scale acquisition by Goldman. Who knows?
