@be

The K shaped economy is alive and well.

Half the people exist where they are struggling to keep up. It used to be a small part of the population. I believe it affects more people. You don't want to be around when these people get seriously angry.

It’s a rough time for everyone and we all work for Dell. Stop with the insults to sales and heartlessness. You don’t know what people are dealing with. Anonymity makes people act like trash.

@ab Mass layoffs make meager earnings reports look great.

ISG and CSG support teams are underwater. You won't see the real negatives of that decision for a few years. Channel sales has flipflopped once again out of the trashbin.

Dell's customer NPS was as high as 30. It is 16 today. The customers who are satisfied with Dell are the AI ones that will abandon us for the lowest bidder at the drop of a hat rather than having any true loyalty.

Then there's the drop of eNPS from the 60s to the 30s.

It mirrors the US economy where the rich people selling stuff say its good while not paying attention to how a half dozen AI companies are circlej--king the US economy and Dell to artificial and temporary gains.

There will be a reckoning and I'm looking forward to watching it.

I'm seriously doubting Dell will have their typical Feb layoff parade this year tbh... I'm sure there will be layoffs but not on a large scale like previous years. Maverick is in the sh----r and is STILL a cluster; and almost certainly will not be fully ready by when JC wants it to be. Meaning JC has bigger things to worry about - aka mav.

Not to mention, dell is around the 95-97k employee count now so if 90k is the goal, why rush it at this point? We went from 13xK in 2020 to sub 100k in a matter of 6 years... which involved huge layoffs twice/year + smaller ones in between. That rush to 90k is no longer there anymore. Why risk media attention?

To top it all off, they just told sales folks they don't get a penny if they don't hit 60% quota... meaning they KNOW people will quit, and those who don't will be placed on PIP's and forced out - all without a severance.

I hate to break this to you, but earnings are phenomenal.

I’ve heard people say they haven’t seen numbers like this in years. I’ve been on a lot of sales town halls where they weren’t nearly as bullish as they were today.

I bet Dell has a dead cat bounce before warnings about profits

I'm not so sure Dell is doing "big" layoffs this year as they are close to hitting their employee count at this point and, with mav going south I'm sure they are planning to can a good number of them soon enough... Then with the apparently horrible new Comp plan for sales, they are counting on a lot to quit.

I am sure they will still do some sort of "large" layoff but idk,
