Good news for you, the company is full of rats.
Where I sit within sales, we’ve always got paid on invoice.
The way one of the SVPs explained it to me, the new sales comp plan is actually pretty straightforward and easy to attain.
The secret is you just have to maximize your personal strategy for catching rats to cook on a coat hangar over an open flame. Once you've got that down, you'll never need to worry about comp again because all else will fall naturally into place.
They only paying out between 50 to 60% right now, so this is just the rubber stamp.
A low base salary and imaginary commission, buried under endless admin work and a trail of broken promises.
I know this won’t happen because the company doesn’t like paying its sales folks, but with these “unprecedented” supply constraints they should pay on booking and not shipment/invoice.
There is no way we are going to be able to ship any product next half, even if we sell week one of Q1. Looks like another easy way to blame the sellers.
Has anyone actually been presented with this plan for them to sign off on?

1/quarterly plan
2/hit 70% or earn nothing
3/based on invoice not booking
I don't think the comp plans are even out yet for sales people.
So if you put it all together then it makes sense. Move us to quarters, don’t pay us until we hit 60/70% and do layoffs at the end of the first month. Anyone that doesn’t do well they can layoff without paying the commission we are owed BeCaUsE YoU dIdNt HiT yOuR (bogus) nUmBeR. A free month of work, genius.
The new sales plan at Dell is the same as it’s always been, take money from our pockets.
We make Jeff and the bigshots loads of money and they sc--w us.
We stay out of fear and they take advantage and gaslight us.
New modern Dell but the same Dell ways.
