Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Is anyone else tired of the so-called AI gurus?

I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of some of these VPs on LinkedIn talking about AI and the impact they can have when they can’t even look away from their monitor and the script that they’re reading from. The chief people officer is the worst offender of all. Cisco is not an AI company just like they’re not a software company. Stick to selling boxes that’s where you made your money.

@g2

"active AI users receive higher performance scores and are promoted faster"

a-s-kissers get promoted faster? who could have seen that coming?

"And, contrary to common fears, they actually stay longer"

through choice? or because they can no longer be taken seriously to find work anywhere else?

The people leader is just a talking head full of spin and nonsense who has no idea how the technology works. She simply speaks to seem important with one hand out collecting compensation as she nears retirement. She oversees the recruiting leader who has no clue what he is doing. Yearly he makes another horrible decision that digs the hole even deeper.

I have to laugh at the latest post from Kelly J on LinkedIn:

At Cisco, active AI users receive higher performance scores and are promoted faster. And, contrary to common fears, they actually stay longer

You all sound like a bunch of people who are going to lose your jobs to all the awesome "AI natives" out there. You need to learn how to integrate AI into every aspect of your life so that you never stop talking about it. Wake up to an AI assistant summary of your upcoming day, take an AI shower, pop your breakfast in your AI-enhanced microwave, and so on. That way you'll be on the same wavelength as G2, Satya Nadella, and Elon.

Using AI for daily activity does not make a company an AI company. A company is called AI company when they have their own AI products launched to customers.

G2 seems to keep confusing using someone else's AI with being a top player in the AI space.

Cisco being AI relevant is like me saying I am US Masters green jacket relevant. Not in the same universe.
