There are layoffs every month. There is a whole crowd of people who's last day is next Tuesday February 10. It is just going to continue Alvind and the book cooker Carpenaw are incapable of anything else. Look at the "goodwill" on the books over 67 billion that's just make believe $$ They started working on the big wave list for March in November

@cy

I think you are correct... at least for MQ, I don't think it is growing. Losing every day to Kafka. Now, we essentially just bought Kafka (Confluent) so who really cares!

Red Hat is in trouble, definitely. Scores of customers are moving away from RHEL. Ubuntu appears to be the main beneficiary of that trend.

Would love to hear some Red Hat folks comment. Anyone?

Coocked results ? Some good revenue dow to the Z17 cycle ? Debt remains high though.
Me wonders who the h-ll buy IBM in 2025-2026 except for the old economy folks stuck with mainframes .
Did anyone guess what the new Financial Institutions use as infra in H/W and S/W ? Like Revolut ? They adapt in no time , bring new products in the market fast , run querries with new tools , whilst your 130 year old bank with a 70 year old CIO Brag about the availability of hiz Z16 and his Cobol team

Something seems off about the financial results in SW. Particularly Data and Automation. Are you telling me that DB2, WAS, and MQ are growing Revenue twice as fast as Red Hat? I'm sensing shenanigans.

@a7

oh no, layoffs are coming and they will be ferocious... IBM said they want an extra 1 billion of additional FCF for 2026... it won't happen without cutting more costs.

@a2, I sold my 100 shares of IBM when the share price reached $200 and bought 8 ounces of gold with the proceeds. As of today, my gold is worth $42000.

None believes this pile of garbage. Similar results were published 10 years ago, praising IBM leading position in the cloud space, while AWS, AZURE and others were destroying IBM. Replace the word "cloud" with "AI", you get the same pile of garbage. The slimy Indian at the top is leading the cabal of thieves.
