Thread regarding Amazon.com layoffs

LOTR and now MELANIA

Prime Video lost its bet on The Rings of Power and now it's repeating the failure with Melania just to score a few political favors with Trump. Then it sacked Jen Salke.

Reports say the new movie about Melania Trump has flopped at the box office. The project cost an estimated $75 million in total—between acquisition and global theatrical rollout—but is tracking at roughly $5 million for its opening weekend with many empty theatres.

So many posts get mod deleted for daring to mention the wife of dear leader.

Such a bo-b - waste of $40M that went straight to the Trumps. Ticket sales dismal; reviews exceedingly negative; move to Boycott Bezos and Amazon with their layoffs (needed to pay for this mess). No one needs to pay for Prime - if you must you can still just order what you want and ...oh my... wait a day or three for arrival (v. same day/2 hours). Honestly just find the actual product stores and buy direct/local to support your community.

We went to Marty Supreme yesterday at our local theater. We went out in the cold, paid good money for our tickets, over ten bucks for a small popcorn and one soda, sat through a zillion previews, listened to a guy's cell phone go off and then finally watched the movie. It would have been a much more pleasant experience to watch it at home and that's why we go to the movies about once per year.

@OP - to be fair, if I can watch any content online from the comfort of my own home, for the price of Prime membership, why would I go to a theater? I think COVID broke an already struggling movie distribution model.
