Rumors often turn out to be true and that's what I fear the most. I heard some speculations that there could be cuts very soon, however, no one has any more insights to share. That gives me hope that these are just malicious rumors but I am preparing just in case.

The reality is that the merger forces major re-orgs. You'll probably suffer them for a few more years before things settle. So, glad I left right before the re-org. It sounds horrible in all of the major divisions in the states.

They should be eliminating those d-mb IT folks who can't seem to do anything right. At least someone with the common sense from the other side of the country (MA or VA) would be able to do some real work. The IT folks in Tucson are worthless
When RTN combined the 4 BUs into 2 there was overlap and layoffs. Expect that to happen again with the existing 2 BU merged into 1 BU. Still dont understand what's happening with former RTN corporate.
I disagree. Raytheon has a 79 billion dollar backlog! This company has to address providing products to all their customers and delivery everything per their schedules. You can't do that if your also laying off your production capacity. The other Divisions are geared up for commercial and military aircraft equipment, They are not geared up for or have the personnel setup for Radars or Missiles production. My thinking is a 1 year reorganization and then a push for personnel and increase in production units to gear up in 2024-2026 to reach their goals my 2027.

Why do you think they offered PTO payout to these 2 BU’s?
Absolutely there are drastic cuts coming for at least both legacy Raytheon business units. The cuts will be in the form of spending and layoffs. Why do you think they offered PTO payout over 40 at 2022 year-end only to these 2 BU’s? Also, the trend of no backfilling of positions when folks leave will continue.
I suspect Rayturd will cease to exist within 10 years and be absorbed into UTC and then be known as the (UTC); United Tu-d from Constipation.
