Coworkers laid off last week, this week I hear the product I work on is being gutted. Some will move to other areas, others will be let go. For the “lucky ones” that remain, it feels like we are left behind on a sinking ship. Lower 401k, no hopes for promotion, they removed our bonuses, and after the earnings call today it seems things will continue to get worse. Besides the people I work with I can’t think of a single positive thing about working for this company, and ironically they’re in the process of wrecking that last part. The toughest part is that we can’t complain about low morale because that is by design. Leadership wants people to hate their job so they quit. Things are looking bleak - decided to start looking outside the company today.

@ax I was RIF'ed spring 2025 and still unemployed. Be careful what you wish for.

Around 2 weeks ago my team received a nice email congratulating us on another highly successful AEP, citing strong enrollment numbers, reduced Help Desk calls and high system availability numbers all as evidence of our good work. And I thought to myself, "Certainly the layoffs can't be far behind."
Four days later, I got the dreaded Friday AM meeting invitation with just 15 minutes of notice!
But I was going to retire this summer anyway. This way, Big Brother gets to pay severance and I can finally put this dysfunctional company in the rear view mirror!
Most OI products are to be sunset in 2026. If you are not one of the AI products being promoted by leadership you will be kicked out. The proof is in the earnings call.
I’m just waiting to get the RIF email. Been here a long time and I will not go on my own. I want that severance.
What makes me sad is I've seen some really good and hardworking people get affected, and yet somehow my rotting carcass of a team with negative margins and unmaintainable legacy systems continues to evade notice, in much the same way my mostly absent project manager has collected pay without results for years now. I've been jaded to dysfunctional leadership for a while, but the tech market is also in the dumps so I guess we just have to hope we squeeze through the next inevitable filter or get some kind of traction externally.
Per earnings, most products are being mothballed.
