It's crystal clear that advancement here is based on networking, not merit. If you're not part of the right circles, trying harder will only result in burnout. Trust me, been there, done that. My tactic now is to be as quiet and consistent as possible. I complete my tasks on time but avoid any projects that would make me stand out. It's a defensive play to ensure I don't become a target while I figure out my next move.

Playing defense is a wise strategy.
For me, I believe the north stars of this organization are to:
- offshore to more cost-friendly countries
- leverage AI to replace workers/backfilling open roles and needs, and
- draft policies to ensure that employees will be more likely to leave on their own versus laying them off.
If not enough voluntary resignations happen, the layoffs will ramp up, with accelerants for more offshoring and AI.
What are the right circles? Sincere question. I'm not clear what's standing in the way of your networking, or if you just dislike networking.
