Clarification needed for Teammates w/5 day in office requirement

For teammates that are required to be in office 5 days a week for work, are they required to work from home when inclement weather prohibits them from getting to the office? It would seem if in office teammates are unable to effectively collaborate with a Champion Mindset and build better lives and communities unless onsite, there is no need for them to worry about work if they can't get to the office.

@ct You should use a sick day. Upper management said "WFH Bad", so you should not WFH to benefit them when they took it away from us when it made our lives better.

We can't let them decide WFH is OK only when it sc--ws us, make them live with their RTO mandate and don't work remote.

@e0 Giving you some rare support here (not that you need it, I’m just agreeing with you). All the whining and complaining is getting tired. Yes, it feels good to vent. Yes this site offers the appearance of anonymity. Yes it’s validating to get 25 upvotes to a well-worded rant. But enough already. To the “let us be adults” crowd: ever been to a mall? A little league baseball game? An interstate highway on a Saturday night? Yeah, I don’t trust “adults” any more than my golden retriever.

@e0 How about —letting adults be adults and choose the work environment that helps them perform best? Whether you prefer to work in the office for a day, a half day, or the entire week should be your call. The expectation is simple: deliver great work and keep clients happy. Teams meet in person once a month—beyond that, anything else adds little value and doesn’t reflect how you treat champion-mindset teammates.
When you want to attract and retain top talent, you go above and beyond to support them. Assigned cubes and permanent offices feel outdated. Need an office? Scan the QR code on the door and reserve it for the day—no multi-day bookings and no online reservations.

@ec0
It's unbelievable that we still hear that because people were in the office before, they need to be now.
I guess you use an abacus instead of excel, send telegrams instead of IMs, wash your cloth by the river with lye. Or are improvements only allowed if it aligns with out of touch senior managers ideals?

As we know,the RTO is an attrition play, it has nothing to do with productivity or making the company better.

Good lord, just be an adult and quit complaining or resign and find something elsewhere. Pretty childish and pathetic.

Before 2020, a significant portion of “white collar” employees managed to be in an office / “on-site” location 5 days a week. No problem. Then with COVID things changed. Some for the better, some for worse. And companies have come out of that time with different approaches to on-site work.

Companies have choices, as do the employees. Last I checked none of us are under an employment contract, so if you’re not happy then quit complaining about it and do something about it: leave and go elsewhere. I can assure you that you’ll be happier (at least about that aspect of your life). Just quit complaining about it constantly around folks who don’t mind, or may even be happy, coming into an on-site facility.

@OP our managers let us stay home, good rule of thumb we use: if school is out we WFH.

@OP A champion would strap a blade to their vehicle and power through.

I'm going to hold your hand when I say this. Truist employees do themselves a great disservice when they really honestly expect/trust this company to "care." Truist clearly does NOT care. They are a business. AND they are behind budget, so they can't a-f-f-o-r-d to care. The most you can do to save your job is look out for yourself, and to use a sick day or vacation day. The point of RTO is for you to quit or position you for termination by missing days so they don't have to pay severance. Do what you have to do to survive until you get another job because it will not get better. But whatever you do, do not trust them to "care" if you slip or slide off the road.
