I just got off the phone with G2. Yup, he confirmed Cisco is an AI company.

Funny comment, we use a 3rd party AI to ramp up and streamline.

@a3 Yeah, my team has been required to use a third party AI program to help our org ramp up and streamline the workload.

Honestly just feel like I’m dog fooding an AI that will potentially bump me once it’s ready. Sadly, the Bay Area is in trouble.

I'm sure G2 has convinced himself Cisco is perceived as one of the top AI brands out there. Except consuming AI from other companies doesn't turn you into Nvidia or OpenAI. I can't wait for the next insightful LinkedIn post from this great visionary.

Cisco's had many missteps in the past years but please stop drinking Musk's bathwater

After the stellar job he did with DOGE promising to remove $2 trillion from government waste to adjusting that to $1 trillion and later to $150 billion. and even that cancels out because DOGE costed tax payers about the same amount.

Or the stellar job he did with the cybertruck that nobody wants

Asleep at the wheel while BYD became the best EV manufacturer.

you've been inhaling too many fumes in his underground Las vegas metro. I mean the conga line of teslas going 5 mph in their 1 mile course

Musk is even worse at shipping stuff when he says he will.

Musk's comments are super reliable given his track record with DOGE.

G2 and CR still think that Cisco Silicon1 team is ahead of all competitors by two years. LOL

Cisco sells plumbing parts and broken code, not AI chips.

Elon also has a distinct pattern of overpromising and underdelivering, as all visionaries & futurologists tend to do.

Although, I fail to see how this has any impact on Cisco. The deal with Nvidia AI chips isn't exclusive, right? If there's opportunity to leverage Elon's AI chips, then Cisco could chase that dragon if they wanted.

Cisco didn't miss the AI revolution...we're paying for it every day!

G2 gave us unlimited tokens on all major LLMs except Gemini. We are encouraged to run every task, no matter how trivial, through AI tools. OpenAI reps have come to speak to my group. Cisco is paying out crazy $$$ to OpenAI for this. In a year or so you'll see limits put on our use of these tools when it becomes clear that we are just running up bills to the stratosphere for little real gain.

So yeah, we hit the AI revolution in the same way a junkie hits the me-h revolution.

Like him or not, Musk gets on with with it and actually does it. Because Musk is a leader and visionary, no matter what you may think of his politics or mannerisms. Cisco sees which way the wind is blowing, dithers and procrastinates, creates lots of PPT, naysays the others that are innovating and talks about it for two years before realizing that, he-l, we better do this too. By which time Cisco is an also ran. Ditto cloud, SD-wan, SASE, L7 security and market share loss in EN. No one thinks “Cisco” when AI being discussed. That’s because Cisco is run by a used car salesman who has no true grasp of the technology and potential as are his sidekicks. They are not engineering visionaries like Musk, Jensen Huang and Sam Altman - Cisco is led by sales weasels . Others lead, Cisco follows.
