Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

My team is barely functioning

If we get more cuts, everything will break down. I'm refusing to pick up the work from people who were let go. If one person needs to do the work of three, then those other two shouldn't have been laid off in the first place. I'm not going to work my a-s off just to be laid off at the next opportunity.

Verizon is done! Do you really think Dan is going to turn anything around. His whole goal is to get the stock above 50 then the investors will bounce because anyone waiting on some new and innovated is sillynesss

Take it from me. It’s better to fail than to speak up to say what you need to succeed. Failure is rewarded at Verizon - at scale! You can’t survive this place if you care or try to do your best. Do the bare minimum and your ever changing management will just find someone else to bark at. No need to please your boss. The endless reorgs ensure it won’t matter. The ones that do nothing win at the end of the day. Stay the course and collect!

What I’ve noticed is a few of the high performing people that got RIF were also outspoken. Being a yes man never negative no matter what is the requirement now. Then everyone acts surprised when it fails. But hey, at least you tried and never brought up any of the possible problems with the idea.
