I'm a Fiserv employee out of the Pittsburgh location. We have a headcount of roughly ~100 some employees. Nobody that I'm aware of has been laid off.

The Station Square office building, which is where Fiserv Pittsburgh operated out of, was acquired by a Boston-based firm back in November 2025. They have plans to revitalize the area. This is one of the reasons why the lease wasn't renewed.

Then add in the recent woes of Fiserv as a company and it makes sense to just force people remote as a real-estate/cost-structure decision. They announced the closure of the office back in December. If they wanted to lay people off they would have already done it.

What they aren't doing is backfilling any positions in Pittsburgh. So if someone quits, or gets fired or retires, either that position is absorbed in the department or they fill the position elsewhere that Fiserv has a physical footprint. This is just how work gets shifted now by entropy. Attrition happens naturally. There's no future for anyone in the Pittsburgh area unless you want to relocate.

They had plans to close the office in Pittsburgh for years now, even since Covid. But I'm sure former CEO Frankie B played a part in not allowing that to happen.

Who knows how long people will be remote in Pittsburgh though. Maybe a year, maybe longer. As long as the work in Pittsburgh isn't being shifted to other areas in the company and I'm not seeing any signals that is occurring yet.

This would have been news in October or November when this story originally broke.
