Was RIF’d in August, didn’t really get to say goodbye to anyone, and I genuinely liked everyone on my team. RIF’s and layoffs su-ked, but y’all didn’t.
And to the person that will inevitably comment about leaving NCR “x amount of years ago and never being better”, I’m glad for you, friend, truly.
Still here at VYX for now. Management is very weak which I think majority of us agree on. Not much direction so not sure of company’s outlook going forward. Some of my former team members were let go on the Atleos side. Just laying low and doing my job for now.
I hope that things are going well. For some of us, it is genuinely difficult. For me leaving was a relief. I left with a smile, with a burdened lifted off of my shoulders. I worked with a great team as well and am working again with a number of them at another employer.
My RIF in 2018 was 4 months after I turned 65.
I also had no chance to say good-bye to many folks after 45 years. Since then I have made peace with it, just not the S-B who did it on a conference call. Had I been in ATL at the time, I would now be in jail for su---r punching him.
I am that RIF’d guy, it put me into retirement at 57, take the package and run!
