Which large contract did Optum/UHG lose in Texas to make so many Housecalls NPs lose our jobs?

@pk years ago they called it “benched” I was per assessment let go in April then reinstated in October but this time is different IMHO
@38s do you have intel?
@qx nothing at all.
Hopefully just a few more days before we get answers..
@rz my understanding is warn is based on % laid off and number per “workplace.” They had an east and west coast meeting, all different states. Assuming they are letting just enough go per state and % to avoid warn acts.
@rf I was thinking we would know this Friday…..now it’s looking like the end of Jan? I’m so physically sick over this. I just want to be a peace and do a good job seeing my patients. :(
@ry same for me with scheduling. If we are all getting laid off then how would the WARN act not apply to us? This large of a layoff needs to be put into writing from what I am researching?
few more added to the schedule today for February…not sure if that means anything. Anyone else? I don’t get the point of continuing to schedule if we are getting laid off..
UnitedHealth will release its full year 2025 financial results and provide 2026 financial guidance on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
So even though we were told they weren’t sure how long it would take to let us know anything by, there’s been a date set for UHC.
UHC projected a decrease of approximately 1 million members in both individual and group MA plans for 2026 including ACA a projected loss of about two-thirds of their individual Affordable Care Act (ACA) exchange members.
Which I believe HouseCalls was also seeing some of people on ACA
@qy according to AI - UnitedHealthcare's 2026 Medicare Advantage cuts heavily impact rural counties in states like Minnesota, Vermont, Kansas, and the Southeast, with significant withdrawals from nearly 190 counties, affecting 180,000 enrollees who must find new plans, especially in areas with fewer alternatives, impacting beneficiaries with HMO/PPO plans significantly. Specific counties in California (Placer, Sacramento, Stanislaus, Yolo) and numerous areas in Minnesota face major shifts, with some states seeing near-total exits (Vermont) and others major reductions, driven by sustainability concerns and funding pressures.
States with Major Impacts:
Minnesota: Seeing significant reductions, particularly in rural areas, impacting many subscribers.
Vermont: A near-total exit from the individual Medicare Advantage market, leaving few choices.
Kansas & Southeast: Confirmed county exits.
California: Specific counties like Placer, Sacramento, Stanislaus, and Yolo are affected.
Ohio, Illinois, Georgia: Also facing significant losses in plans.
@rb I can’t seem to find much online about my state being impacted, but manager seems very stressed/overwhelmed compared to usual.
@qy from what I’ve been able to find online the worst states seem to be Vermont and Massachusetts. But the states affected were not released when UHC announced they would pull out of 109 counties
@r9 That’s what I was thinking. I also doubt whether full or empty schedule matters much as visits can be rescheduled in a heartbeat. Plus how would scheduling know RIF nuances/lists.
@qx note is says the “employer” requires the 30 day notice. You as the employee do not get that courtesy. Standard is you are notified of your layoff and you are paid for 2 weeks more as listed as your end date.
Most termed employees will not be given access back to seeing patients those last 2 weeks. Too risky for what they could say or do.
@qx I don’t know exactly what they will do, but according to severance paperwork online your paid on years of tenure and your job grade. Also can depend on state laws as well I think. I’m kind of wondering if the first meeting counts as a warning meeting and then if people are laid off Friday it would come out to “30 days notice” because the end dates is 2 weeks later from what I’ve seen on here
Anyone know what states are affected most? I'm in OH and our manager told us we weren't too impacted by membership changes. I don't trust a soul at this soulless company, just looking for some insight.
If anyone can chime in. My agreement states that employer requires 30 days notice in an event of resignation as HC APC is a patient facing role. In an event of layoff are they giving us 30 days, 2 weeks, or nothing at all?
@pk Not me but I had a colleague laid off. She had just returned from FMLA for a chronic autoimmune disease and BO-M they laid her off. She noticed on a Weds that her schedule was full for the month and then in the pm it was completely wiped and she was told she had a 9 am call with HR and her CTM.
Do you think housecalls will be the first wave with this Fridays supposed layoffs? With a lot of us having full schedules for the rest of the month, I wonder if we will be seeing those people then laid off at the end of next week.
Has anyone on here ever been laid off from house calls? If so, could you share your experience?
@pe business as usual up until it’s not
Anyone else with a basically empty schedule but still have annual review scheduled? It’s such a mind game.
@pb mine is basically empty
@pa and what about your portal schedule, are you booked out for feb or March?
My app is showing all my hours and no deficits
@ky I don’t recall seeing it before either. But could be wrong.
@kw I was never receiving a message like that.
@kw why would it say availability not entered if members are entered in the time frame it has listed? And also conveniently after the Rif date on here that sources are saying..
@kt this is not new at all. It's been this way for at least a year.
@kt Good point. Something is triggering the notification while all the hours/availability adds up.
Makes me wonder if it shows in the portal, but on the scheduling side our schedules are blocked or something. And that’s why it shows in the app
@kr yes same for me. Definitely feels like things are going a certain way..
@kq That’s exactly what I was thinking considering my February schedule is essentially empty, which is very unusual for this time of year.
@kp makes sense. I will say my availability not entered on the app is after the supposed layoff date.. doesn’t really instill confidence
@km Mind started playing its tricks. I guess I’m being hyper focused on it and my brain is just picking up on anything that can be remotely related to my fears.
@kk Thank you!
@kk I just double checked and mine does say availability not entered on the app, but on the portal I still see availability all the way out. Not sure if that means anything
@kg I've never been able to see more than one month on the provider app. Just go to your portal on your laptop and you can see March and April. I get the same message if I try to do it on the app (and did that just today) but when I opened my portal on my laptop I could see I have a few booked for March. This is not new or worrisome in itself.
@kh Odd, I do 5x8…pretty straightforward.
