Last year, I was informed that I would have to switch to a non-exempt contract because the salary limit had been exceeded with the last agreed increase. Has anyone else received this? It gave me the impression that they wanted to get everyone from the old collective contracts. Has anyone refused this?

This is pretty much standard when you exceed a certain salary. Obviously you are better protected within a collective contract but you trade it for a higher salary and have a different negotiating position. It does not mean you are about to get laid off.
Nope, rest of us were still underpaid. Check the contract with a lawyer, if it seems suspicious it probably is.
This is a company firing women in maternity or after, people with disabilities or while on sick leave and members of tge work council. Everything goes and illegal is not really a word in their vocabulary.
Big BS! Get a lawyer to fight this. You are much better protected with a Collective if you are layed off.
