Thread regarding Freddie Mac layoffs

Speaking of TOXIC CULTURE

Why do the members of the EAF team believe they are holier than thou? They act like the rest of the company is dirt under their feet. LAY THEM OFF AND REPLACE THEM!

EAF badmouths most legacy employees. What they said about my old manager behind his back as well as their pushback for any work on his behalf led to his termination.

I would say that my former manager did more with less. His Bladelogic platform did more then EAF and was supported by less then 2 fte. The EAF team likes to keep their JIRA board full and act nasty with everyone else.

Keeping an Ansible server up and running 24/7 is...not a job. Keeping 10,000 of them up and running, and orchestrating all at once? Now you have a job - for an associate/junior. The egos in EAF are basing their self-worth on 10 and 20 year old technology and skills. Outside of the Freddie Mac bubble these technologies are barely in use - shelved as legacy tools from another era. Honestly the layoffs can't come fast enough...dump the execs, flip a coin for all future decisions; outcomes will likely improve.

@jb They are not the only team with too much to do with too few people. Acting with overt rudeness and condescension toward colleagues not only breaches professional decorum but also erodes the foundational trust essential to collaborative enterprise. Such behavior subverts the mutual respect that underpins productive discourse. It undermines general morale, impairing organizational efficacy. It is not tolerable in general society, much less in a corporate workplace. And, no, it has not gotten better.

Welcome to Freddie Mac, man. They've actually improved over time, and have been MUCH cooler relatively lately. And ge-z, their team isn't that big, you're talking about like a few guys. And I wouldn't say the worst in the company, trust me when I say that there's far worse. And keep in mind that keeping things like an Ansible server up and running 24/7 is a stressful job, especially in such a restrictive environment.
