@bn if there is more to it I'm unaware.
She's been happily clunking along in the office I built for her. I read the email. They blamed performance but I don't think it's legitimate, she use to talk about how people would go on pips and stuff. Its as abrupt and right before her vacation clicked over. It seems pretty purposeful to dodge increasing their unemployment tax for lay offs.

Ultimately. It's no real loss. They didn't pay much and the only benefit was she was WFH. I imagine she was probably just part of a get rid of x# of people memo. I was just letting folks know cause I'm sure some people would lose their homes if this happened to them.

It was very abrupt and we lost insurance the second she logged out.

Kind of fu---d up. But like I said. Just letting folks know if they did it to her, they will do it to you. She just quietly did her job as far as I know and they didn't have any problems with her for the last 6 or so years. I don't think she did anything honestly

@ba they claimed if was for performance. Turn off, log off, turn your equipment in.
Last year my wife's boss disappeared abruptly and she was told she got promoted. Assuming now this is kinda just the mo of the company. They didn't really pay her much and it's not a huge loss. I'm not joking when I say Walmart and costco are paying competitive wages hers. She was there 6 years.

@a2 sorry about your wife. There has to be more to the story. It sounds like a cause reason if they aren’t paying out severance or vacation.

Forced 4 is a means to permanently reduced comp in the future too, since it won’t matter if you improve when they focus on YoY.

@a2 no No they didn't. If this did happen you're not telling the full story of why she was fired.

Correspondingly, we can also expect a raised bar on compensation, benefits, and overall employee experience? 😆

@a2 Sorry to hear that. hopefully you can look at this as an opportunity. Was she a forced 4?

They just fired my wife. No pip. Just log out, we stole your vacation. No severance.
