Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

D&S is a joke

Clearly little to no thought is placed into next roles for those of us who aren’t hipos. Tried to have a discussion on my interests with D&S and it was clear they didn’t care. Looking at job boards now.

D&S doesn’t care about the average employee. They get rewarded for working strategic things like constant re orgs and hipo moves.

When the EM Chairman made the official statement in the White House, he painted a target on his and Exxons back. If he reduces headcount in the U.S. then DJT via Chris Wright will be monitoring closely. These games about fake layoffs via performance reduction are done in the US. If Exxon wants the US govt backing, it better ensure no more U.S. jobs decrease! FAFO!

You are totally correct, this organisation has become worthless to the common man. As an example, Global Projects used to have just one man managing everyone's careers, retired now. Then along can S&D just before COVID with the promise that they would now have an organisation to look at everybody's career.. and it started out with some promise to be fair. As a Manager of several staff it was okay in the beginning, but after a few turnovers of staff and leadership within that group, the complaints came that they didn't have enough time to look at everybody. The focus is now HIPO's as the priority, and staff with less than 2 years service. Everybody else is in the same chum bucket now. I tried reaching out to them many times the past few years and got nothing out of it. The D&S rebranding is the cherry on top. 20 years ago the situation was so much better than it is today. Many people just punching their ticket in that department, looking out for the HIPOs so that they also stay visible and hope to ride their career on the back of association.
Look at what is happening in HC10 countries all over the world, look at the Company headcount now versus in 2019, and the writing is on the wall for many of us. The layoffs and asset sell offs are continuing. Unless you are HIPO or in BTC or in a niche role, then read the room.

@aw that would be one thing but when D&S thinks they don’t need to talk to you because everything they need to know is in your career connection profile there is a problem.

When career interests aren’t in line with capabilities the job board is probably where you should go. I am sure D&S are tired of having conversations with entitled know nothings
