Thread regarding TransUnion layoffs

Upcoming layoffs will be worse than originally planned

The reduction in available OpEx this year was planned to be achieved mainly through savings in datacenter shutdown, software elimination, and layoffs. Now that the DC2 contract will be renewed for another two years (was planned for shutdown in April), that DC1 will remain indefinitely, and other software needed to be renewed (teams were given impossible dates to hit), there's just one lever left to pull... people.

Since the other plans failed, more people will be affected in the upcoming layoffs than originally planned in attempt to survive the ridiculously reduced budget. Be prepared. Start looking for a new job now.

they are not positioning this as a layoff. they are putting people on false 90 day PIPs to be fired in march “for cause”.

I hear contradicting statements from different sr directors. One says there is layoff planned for march. other one says that it was planned and now been put on hold.

both of them knew of the nov layoffs well in advance.

this is depressing considering that they poached talented ppl from other teams into GT only to layoff!

@rw Venkat is a cancer on the organization. He is a terrible bully who hasn’t delivered and has his people parroting propaganda: “OneTru is the solution, not the problem”

@f0 DC1 DC2 is data center 1 and data center 2. We were supposed to be out of those last year. As with every other decision, the CIO over committed and under estimated LOE because he thinks he knows best and doesn't listen to us with the knowledge of these systems and infrastructure. He surrounded himself with people who tell him what he wants to hear -only to also miss targets themselves. Then he ends up pulling the only lever he is capable of pulling - people. Making it was even worse for us.

2 years in and NONE of his commitments have been realized.

Will this impact the entire company, or a specific group? Anyone who has details please share.

If this is true, it's incredibly sad.

Valued employees would be treated like commodity items that could be cast-aside simply to hit a budget number that rewards leaders who already receive millions in compensation.

Could you (or anyone) elaborate on what DC1 and DC2 is?

And yes, any particular groups to be affected or other details you can provide? Is there still a plan for this all happening in March?
