Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

Renee Good

I know the bar is low but I’m still a little surprised no comments from leadership on what is happening in the Twin Cities community. Fu-k this place.

Yall need to stop whining about ICE and get back to work. No wonder Medtronic is hiring people in India. They work harder and don't get distracted by nonsense.

It’s sad to see that people are not angry enough about Medtronic RIFing hundreds of people in the States but hiring hundreds of people in India.

Seeing all of this infighting is sad. Medtronic is outsourcing good paying jobs to countries like India and we are here fighting each other?

i have often worn a butt plug at home while doing chores, it makes me feel se-y as it moves around as i walk or bend. And i sometimes wear a pretty plug to work on a Friday. To keep the plug firmly in place, i wear control top panty hose, pa-ties and a tight short leg panty girdle under my boring boi clothes. It reminds me i am a submissive si--y gurl, so that by quitting time, i am ready to play

@231
I saw nothing in the email about WFH just a 2 for 1 donation to Non Profits. IDK but be safe folks these paid actors are out of control from what I see on the news.

As bad as it sounds at least they are letting people working from home. Unlike most of the other companies here

@1z5 Feel better now that MDT ‘denounced’ the chaos and mayhem caused by protesters (read: financed activists) who interfere with lawful enforcement of immigration laws? I sure will sleep better now.

60 Minnesota CEO's didn't even sign a letter when a loony mu---red one of their own CEOs.

How about now?? 60+ Minneapolis-based companies (including Target, United Health, Best Buy, BCBS) signed a letter denouncing ICEs use of deadly force in their city. Ashamed that Medtronic wasn’t part of it

Just two more weeks to flatten the illegal immigration curve. Stay strong - we are all in this together!

It's called running a business, not a social sentiment company. MDT should stick to what it does best, st-----g GM's ego.

@gq I honestly hope you are some kind of troll and not actually working at Medtronic. Even with this being an anonymous forum, if that’s what you think of and say to the people you are working with I feel sorry for you. This is not the place it was when I joined 16 years ago

@gt, thanks for the sanity check. Medtronic is where I work, where I do my job in pursuit of helping people live better lives. I don’t WANT my workday to be interrupted with political garbage; it’s an unwelcome distraction.

I have posted criticism before about Medtronic with jobs going overseas. But when it comes to politics, the situation with ICE and Good appears out-of-scope for a corporation. I am a brown indigenous person. The racism in Mexico or much of Latin America is actually much worse in overall history. Those countries had a historical "casta" or caste system based on skin color and degree of Spanish or Portuguese ancestry. Full-blooded, brown Native Americans or Africans were at the very bottom. The focus is too much on "ICE" as racist when the racist "casta' of the Latin American countries is largely ignored by corporate media which tends to swing liberal.

Just google it on AI mode with this term - "spanish casta racism". It gives a good summary. The Native Americans have been aware of it for hundreds of years since the 1500s. But the corporate media ignores it and just focuses on ICE.

I criticized Medtronic for the layoffs and offshore relocation of jobs. But I don't think this political topic is in scope for a corporation given the daily grind of production, downsizing, and market shifts.

@e0 you poor baby, all you care about is working remote. you are part of the problem - go to work everyday, do the job you were hired to do and shut-up. if you don't like it, quit or go elsewhere.

My OU VP sent out a message last Friday. If your OU leadership did not at least post on Engage, then that is a real shame.

Medtronic’s silence is deafening and is in opposition to its tenants. Silence implies support. I see the slippery people everyday day on my commute to and from work. At the BARE minimum, Medtronic should soften the big brother style tracker to allow employees to work remotely for safety reasons and to accommodating families who are impacted by school and daycare closures.

@dk A bruise is internal bleeding. If his liver was bleeding he would be at the hospital. It's just more BS from the white house.

IMO, there is no reason for management to address this issue. It is not a company problem. Everyone taking sides and having to take a stand on every single thing is what got us where we are today. Medtronic should stick to making medical devices.

I just heard the ICE officer has internal bleeding, but IDK I'm 600 miles away from OHQ. The wife should get charged with aiding an as--ult to a government officer if true.
