it only matters for one man. people get so dramatic.
it’s the end of the world as know it (for the second time) and i feel fine
@mt This shouldn’t matter in a capitalist democracy.
I hope that at least a few of you are taking notice of the pattern here.
unfortunately trump is the type of guy who wants to hear what he wants to hear. and that’s rarely the truth
i’d expect the ceo to know better. it’s not about telling the truth, it’s about understanding when to be quiet to best benefit your company. it’s quite easy to play trump, just shut your yap for a bit and then lie about how you’ll help him
@ea How about starting with the truth?
@ea Basic sanity and adult-level social skills.
@ec the great one has spoken, hopefully one day I will be as great as you
@dc “dems in this thread must be HC10 folks”. You’re telling me that people belonging to an American political party must be in an HC10 country, a designation that includes the USA?!? And you’re using that as an epithet?
God you people are so d-mb
A moral compass ? Compared to what?
@d4 Heard the same BS before and during Iraq/OIF.
Didn’t work then and it won’t work now. Take it from someone who was there.
Dem administrations are better for established O&G companies like XOM. Look at the earnings during Obama and Biden administrations. Ironic that the dems who say they are for the poor man actually have the highest energy prices… but conservative Christians think Trump is the second coming. A few divorces, some p*rn stars signing nda’s, couple bankruptcies, and a couple as--ult lawsuits… he could have his own mega church
At every presidential election, we get emails at EM to support GOP and donate funding campaigns. GOP has been pro-drill-baby-drill and Dems are for pro-green and krill oil. Yes indeed, O&G is and should be pro-GOP. Dems in this thread must be HC10 folks who hate their jobs.
@cp Since never, even though they’ve made record profits under dem administrations. I think it’s some kind of manhood thing.
Cerro Ne--o was a heritage Mobil asset that Exxon acquired in the merger. Pre-Merger under Exxon investment standards including costing/risk/reward, there was subdued/little interest in many of the Ven HO opportunities. WE were focussed on Brazil and West Africa and LNG. Plus, it was better to invest in Canadian (IOL) heavy oil. ExxonMobil can make alot refining Ven crude without taking in-country investment risk. Note COP has no refining capacity. CVX has limited Gulf Coast upgrade capacity. XOM has extensive HO refining capacity on Gulf Coast and can buy HO from CVX, COP or from Trafigura or Vitol.
@d1 The year to date prize winner for comment most disconnected from reality. Has a great chance to prevail for the entire year.
Maybe, maybe not. Did you have to say it out loud. Do you really want to be on Trump’s bad list? Asking for a friend because I don’t really care. I got mine. Life is good. Good luck.
Since when is O&G pro-dem?
Non-investable? From an economics and safety perspective, if EM uses and sends BTC and other offshore folks there, that could be a win-win. Nope, don't send any precious HC10.
I’m proud of Darren delivery of that message to Trump and that gives me motivation. We know that Trump will throw the feds at us but Repubs should be concern. Keep it up Darren, super proud of XOM
Don't worry about it, the Dems will remove him next year. Then hopefully America will find a moral compass again. At least for a little while.
Feels like my cat caught a mouse and bring it to feed me
This is utterly ridiculous and I have no idea why so many of you people keep cheering about it. The jingoism is deafening.
Some of you are (probably) old enough to remember the Vietnam War. You know, the one where we had our heads handed to us. Then we had OEF/OIF. Again, massive amounts blood and treasure expended on nation building and resource extraction for which we got nothing. In fact, Iraq became (and still is) a te---r factory. The Ta----n own Afghanistan lock, stock, and opium.
Now, all of you Fox News binge-watching mouth-breathers want U.S. energy companies to pour hundreds of billions of dollars over decades into the most violent and unstable country in the western hemisphere, which, unlike the VC/AQ/Ta----n, has tanks, jet fighters, and a large army skilled in guerrilla warfare. This is the definition of insanity.
There is no path to profitably extracting Venezuelan hydrocarbons that doesn’t involve defeating their armed forces in battle - and that’s currently beyond the operational capability of the U.S. military.
Consider applying something resembling adult-level analytical reasoning to this situation.
This is a no win situation… DW will now need to spend money to show some form of seriousness and progress. EM is now the target of the US govt that it didn’t want to be…
