If you get laid off before the 2 years is up, do you have to pay back tuition reimbursement received until that point?

Involuntary termination - you don’t need to pay them back.
Voluntary termination- you are required to pay back if it’s within 2 years.
If you are RIFd you don’t pay back and can technically claim classes currently in progress. It’s why they want ppl to quit
Being laid off - do not have to repay. You can contact employee center to confirm as I have and have it in writing to confirm this exact thing.
@b5 That sounds like it would need to be disclosed in the terms, but probably best handled with an HR case to get an accurate answer. They have been shady with the reimbursement policy in 2025 taking down that intranet page and reposting the revised policy.
Does anyone know if you have a 3 yr student loan reimbursement as your bonus when you signed on the job, and get let go, will they reimburse the rest still?
No
Generally not, but I believe you ARE still required to show proof of course completion and passing grades.
No, it wont require payback as its the company decision to layoff, not yours to leave.
