Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

The DELL stock keeps sinking - now at $123

Does somebody know why the stock keeps falling and the market cap keeps shrinking? Isn't DELL the main benefactor of the ongoing AI expansion and AI factories demand? Something else seems to be going on here..

@fc
Just wait until that big PC refresh in the sky with Nvidia chips running Microslop's Windows Copilot AI. We're going to the moon!

3 reasons why:

  1. margin pressure from RAM commodity price increases
  2. AI growth may be a bubble about to burst
  3. Dell struggling on storage market share, client market share.

Stock market will do its thing, but these are the three areas of concern for the companyu as I see it.

If I listened to the anonymous experts on line I would have sold my stock $70 about two years ago when people were saying “It’s at its peak”.

There are two stories out there that hurt the stock price. 1. We're in an Ai bubble that will pop any minute 2. Memory prices have jumped 2x - 3x which challenge margins.

Who knows what the market should be doing.

Dell had slides for their AI strategy. Again they’re a commodity. There is nothing there. Smoke and mirrors.

Because the AI bubble is popping since everyone realizes it’s a shell game of IOUs. Dell’s last quarterly report made clear their $100 billion deal with Nvidia announced to great fanfare at the White House was just smoke and mirrors, and may not actually happen. Meta keeps advertising how they’re job creators investing $600 billion in AI data centers. Most of that is highly leveraged with loans they will need to pay and they plan to pay for it by leasing data center ai capacity in some strange financial instrument that harkens back to sub-prime derivatives and is highly risky if as is likely all these people without jobs aren’t willing to pay for AI. OpenAI is a laughing stock after they had such a huge lead and are lighting millions daily on fire with no profits in sight. They got lapped by Google and Claude not to mention Deepseek and KimiK2 open source models from China nipping at their heels for a fraction of the investment. Most big “deals” can’t be traced to real money they are so complicated. Oracle to buy a bunch of Dell, Dell to buy a bunch of Nvidia, nvidia to buy a bunch of Oracle. Etc. It’s a ponzi scheme, AI is impressive at plagiarism. But they haven’t figured out how to make money or actually replace us yet.
