Does anyone at this company deserve a bonus given their very poor performance this past year?
Highest stock price during Irani was about $104. Under Chazen it was about $102. Not much difference I'd say.
Oxy has always been an international company and they should have stuck with that. It is too bad Dr. RI didn’t stick around and then SC would have gone away and the domestic concentration would not have happened.
The country is spelled Colombia. You are forgiven because even some college educated people misspell it.
More International assets? How are Columbia and Peru working for you? Algeria was a take back because you couldn't sell it to Total when you were unloading international assets!.. Why not focus on being a leader in US domestic production. Isn't that why you spent so much money on the last two acquisition?
If leadership changes, Oxy is going to divest or spin off DAC assets. Might invest more on international assets.
Also Oxy is now too top heavy. Possible demotions or layoffs of leadership roles.
@qa Performance only. Qualifications are helpful for promotions and new hires, but performance for everyone else.
COP and CVX will battle each other over Oxy. COP will win using their Venezuelan profits to make it happen. CVX will regret not going after Oxy earlier.
Qualifications and performance, not just qualifications.
Oxy will cancel all DIB groups to align with federal law. DEI does not contribute one dime to the bottom line. Promotions and compensation will be determined by qualifications, not participation in employee resource groups.
Prediction: Oxy will finally figure out what a je-k DT is and stop donating to the GOP cause.
Cost reduction is the main focus in most of the conversations since last 2-3 months.
Pay down debt with Oxychem sale and business as usual. The bigger question will be the price of oil and how that affects Oxy and every other oil industry company, but that is a daily question in itself.
Maybe Oxy will get another big international concession.
