Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

More ISPs Are Coming

This is based on actual facts….

In April there will be another town hall to tout the success of ER. They are going to share that we’ve gained efficiencies through reducing the layers of management as well as early successes of automation and outsourcing….hence the acceleration of phase and 2 of ER.

It will be at that point the return to office and shift in where work is performed (in office and HBA) will be introduced as a means of accelerating our delivery of products and services. In short, HBA will become a select group of job families….mainly Ops and Service roles. Those roles will be split between outsourced contractors and employees.

Penny really gets aro--ed firing people right before Christmas, and the idea of ex employees having their electricity cut off helps her climax.

I’m sure more ISPs are coming. But the April timeframe seems illogical. I think they would wait to see the kind of impact July RTO has and introduce ISPs accordingly later in the year.

@1j

Leaders (at least non gp) are absolutely as miserable.
We doubled or tripled team size with zero support. Then we are expected to cheer lead the rto mandate and just fall in line. Zero questions asked,
Zero ability to raise legitimate team concerns.

Just hoping i can get out soon.

@1h7 Agree, they'd get hundreds more that would take it now that people know what the organizational structure actually is, who there leader is, and what the new partnership structure is. Just open it up again, and to more people.

Instead, these ELT hacks are trying to make everyone miserable to save a buck and get people to quit. Shortsighted stupidity from untalented managers.

@1j7, wow! So you're telling us leaders are also miserable? Seems to me, most leaders have it easy and are in "meetings" all day long.......

When I read this shortly after it was posted I rolled my eyes and assumed it was just someone stirring the pot.

However, I finally went into the office this week and someone left a document on a printer that I quickly skimmed that outlined this RTO and the number of employees who will probably quit. The document looked like a presentation from a consultancy group. It sat there all day and I was so tempted to just grab it and take it to the bathroom and read all the pages.

@hh Leader, who is also looking. It was during a headcount / talent planning session and a GP let it slip and didn’t realize that not everyone in the room was in the know.

@1h7 they likely will at some point, even if it's focused on specific orgs and not company-wide. They built out the tools to make VSP a repeatable process after the 2025 round.

@1f2 they should offer VSPs again don’t ya think? I would think a decent amount would take the VSP.

I don’t even care anymore. bring on the ISP. I’m eventually going to quit and find something else anyway so give me my money and we can amicably part ways.

@sr correct. Operations leader told us ISPs coming in 2026, no number given or time frame. It will most likely be more offshoring too since this is the literal phase of "cascade 3" where offshoring and AI take over. Really though, it's just more indian contractors and ISPs to keep david's spreadhsheet happy on the labor cost front

@qt, maybe not for the IT dept. There will be ISP this year as announced in other divisions.

I don’t think there will be ISPs this year. We are expanding in our area of IT. Then again ya never know I guess.

@jj A comment mentioned Todd at the end of year meeting saying ISP would be coming in 2026. Never a number or timeline. OPs post states April as more specific and mentions HBAs as possible targets. So not sure if OP is high up the ladder in OPS or just going off hearsay from other divisions. My question to anyone that can answer, how big of a bo-b are they going to drop on us in April before we even begin the micromanaging sh1tshow in june with counting minutes in our office desk chairs?

@hh , did you read all comments? A comment specifically said it was announced in a dept meeting by a GP.

@OP I know this is the internet and we can say whatever we want etc, but without giving away your identity, was this information given to GPs and Department level leaders behind closed doors or is this just something you can see coming by april because of other factors?

@OP, the writings all over the wall since Chewbacca showed up. Things will get worse before they get better(not sure it can get better).

I'm calling EJ name to be changed out in 2027.

"...HBA will become a select group of job families ….mainly Ops and Service roles. Those roles will be split between outsourced contractors and employees."

Not sure what this means. @OP or anyone else, can you please explain? And which areas will they be targeting for the next round of ISPs in April?

@dt I feel like we have regressed big time as a society when these white collar management types want to treat us like children or cattle so we either quit or blindly obey. It's like a sick fettish they have trying micro manage the very people who worked remote for 4 years abd kept the company afloat while the higher ups did absolutely nothing productive to make our brand and model more marketable. Somehow the single mom who has been an HBA level 8 for 9 years is the problem, or the HBA who has an elderly parent living with them 48 miles away from campus but has never once asked the company for more money. Yeah, they are the target now while penny pi---s away money on her stupid magical jungle on the roof or ugly AF shoes to wear on national TV to make a clown out of herself flipping a coin. The moral compass of this place is completely inverted right now.

@d8 they will likely start with badge swipes, but there is software available that can track your ISP and tell whether you are online via the network directly at HQ or if you are logged in elsewhere, i.e. not at home office. They will track your usage of the company network and if it goes below 8 hours, 4 days a week you will be put on a report that will be shared with your leader. If you are on the report and you had no PTO, you will likely be given warnings and it will affect your performance review. That's how other companies are doing it so I imagine they'll be doing the same/similar. Oh, and the fun part is it's tracked on a daily basis and not based on a weekly average, so if you were online 10 hours on Monday and only 7 on Tuesday, then you still will get dinged because you were below 8 hours on Tuesday. My family member deals with this at a different local company and it is total insanity. BiG bRoThEr Is WaTcHiNg YoU.

@d8 they track the badge swipes and when you have logged on etc. They are getting off on this micromanagement cr-p. Tempe already got lectured by frank in a town hall last year and the desert folks basically told him to kick rocks. I bet the next thing to come is a new badge that the company will spend millions on so we can tracked like cattle to make sure we have 8 hours logged in an office desk.

@OP Sadly, this is how it feels! I suspect that the radius for commutable will expand to force peoples to make a choice whether to come in or quit their jobs. How will they track who comes in or not? I’ve been coming in 1-2 days a week and was told by my leader and her GP that the arrangement is working perfectly.

@ac lol I was also told by my GP in 2023 that outsourcing was only to contractor positions. We were also told a few months ago that there would be no changes or even discussions in 3 days in office or other WAH for 2026. Not saying your boss lied, but these people in leadership are lying their as--s off constantly because they have no clue what the next move is going to be. They are literal psychopaths winging it and hoping nobody notices how dysfunctional this place is getting.

@a3 yep. Ops division meeting in december T.P said that more ISPs were coming in 2026, then he quickly changed topics and the meeting was done 30 seconds later lol. We were all like WTF was that?? Great way to end the year guys. "We hate you all and more to quit, so RTO is increasing. If you survive that, you will either be fired outright or train your indian replacement, then be fired...because we care."

@OP So basically all of worst fears are coming true as leadership continues to lie to us and insult our intelligence. The reason they increased 3-4 days and want to eliminate WAH for people inside the 50 mile radius is also to get more people to quit before June. Quiet firing/layoffs is here to stay.
