Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Emtech layoff 2026Q4

Oil price is declining. R&D being trimmed down to help achieve structural cost savings on target. Poor value delivery observed in emtech and IP walking out the door.

Attrition is not winding it down fast enough as hoped. Some hipos will be sent to business over next few months in prep.

Recommend requesting a move out of emtech if possible

The best is that all these Ph.D.'s trying to do fake their way through leadership roles.

Non-productive in terms of technical value should all be fired.

Stop all research projects that result in no value, and get rid of those who work these projects knowing they are working on worthless cr-p. That would be millions of savings a year and less toxicity.

@bm Are you even participating in the workforce?

@bm either you are long retired and only know the "glory days" or you are a corporate paid troll. Either way - that is not the Exxon that has existed the last 10 years.

@bm this is "old Exxon". This vision of “Mamma will always try to save my a-s” is absolutely outdated. By at least 15-20 years.

@bm … that’s old Exxon dude. New Exxon is looking for any reason to ship your job to KL, Bangalore, or any low cost engineering center they can find.

If you’re not looking for an exit, you’re the fool!

One thing about Exxon, they always try and find jobs for their employees regardless. That’s why people come here it’s apart of their foundation. Some are to worried about the wrong things, keep working and do your best. Let god do the rest.

Clinton has turned into survival of the fittest, a horrible toxic place where employees would sell their mother down the river to survive. A sinking ship where every man and woman are out for themselves..

EMTECH will have backdoor layoffs starting in July when wave 2 Clinton employees who don't relocate will need to resign. Then there's Canada, Singapore and ETC. But like the previous poster noted, thier roles are being offshored.

Just ki-l Proxxima and it would save $250 mil a year. Not sure why we are still wasting time on that venture.

There are so many groups adding zero value, should have been cut loose long ago
