Thread regarding Ford layoffs

The big one is coming, and then 5 day RTO

You 4 day RTOers complained about not having enough parking and desk space. Well, all that is about to change. In the 1st quarter all of the inconsistents they've been handing out like candy will be used to cut thousands.

You heard that right. Thousands.

Then following that, the survivors will get the 5 day RTO or else threat. Those that violate the 5 day RTO will be PiP'd and fired.

The end game? As small of a SE Michigan salaried footprint as possible. And LCC replacements.

It's the new Ford. Where the vehicles will be assembled by American hourly workers, but designed by cheap foreign engineers. It's been moving that direction since 2019, and this will be the final blow to bring it all to reality.

Me? I'm retiring EOY after nearly 4 decades. I'm at a level that you can count on my knowing what I'm talking about.

GL2U all.

Whitmer's Michigan is one big club...

https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/politics/michigan/2023/02/06/michigan-economic-development-negotiations-code-names-nda/69858803007/

"A battery maker's plans to build a sprawling plant near Big Rapids required 36 non-disclosure agreements with legislative staff, executive branch employees and the elected officials tasked with awarding nearly $800 million in tax incentives, state records show."

https://bridgemi.com/michigan-government/michigan-lawmaker-gag-orders-tax-deals-blasted-culture-secrecy/

That includes 32 out of 146 current state lawmakers, according to records obtained by Bridge Michigan through a Freedom of Information Act request. Bridge requested the documents in October but the process was slowed by delays from the MEDC, the state’s primary economic development arm.

That organization, MEDC, remember that? Yeah that one...

And they have not been new to it...

https://www.crainsdetroit.com/government/michigan-economic-development-corp-got-lawmakers-sign-ndas-jobs-bills-were-crafted < December 08, 2021

https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/politics/2025/01/31/michigan-economic-development-corporation-non-disclosure-agreements-lawmakers-bound-secrecy-get-out/78083739007/?gnt-cfr=1&gca-cat=p&gca-uir=true&gca-epti=z116144p004661c004661d00----v116144d--30--b--30--&gca-ft=217&gca-ds=sophi

"When state lawmakers attempt to get out of non-disclosure agreements they signed with the Michigan Economic Development Corp., they're told they must still keep information secret, sometimes, for years, according to documents obtained by The Detroit News."

https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/politics/2025/01/14/michigan-tax-cash-incentives-micron-volkswagen-stellantis-scout-motors-samsung-ford-gotion-medc/77671462007/?gnt-cfr=1&gca-cat=p&gca-uir=true&gca-epti=z119744p119850c119850d00----v119744d--30--b--30--&gca-ft=203&gca-ds=sophi

The state of Michigan has Ford, which was one of the eight companies more than $1 billion each in taxpayer-funded incentives and future tax breaks since the creation of a cash-for-jobs program in November 2021, according to records obtained by The Detroit News.

Last October https://www.qualitymag.com/articles/99111-gov-whitmer-ford-motor-company-medc-announce-expansion-of-hands-on-learning-for-michigan-k-12-students-for-future-skilled-trades-careers

"Gov. Whitmer, Ford Motor Company, MEDC Announce Expansion of Hands-On Learning for Michigan K-12 Students for Future Skilled Trades Careers"

They're in your schools. Get them out. Now.

“This truly is a unique and powerful partnership with state government, private industry and education leaders all rowing in the same direction to drive Michigan forward in this vital segment of our state and national economy,” said Gov. Whitmer. “Let’s keep working together to bring advanced manufacturing and critical supply chains home as we create economic opportunities for hardworking Michiganders and inspire the next generation of innovators and creators in every region to build a brighter future for Michigan.”

Do not fall for it.

The funding from Ford Philanthropy and the MEDC will help DPSCD expand its Mobility Career Pathway, piloted at Western International High School in fall 2024, by developing a full K-12 pipeline through the integration of high-tech Ford Future Builders Labs into two K-8 schools.

The pipeline is not in your child's best interests. Michigan is a state of workers, not thinkers.

“Through our Blueprint 2027 priorities—Student Success and Exceptional Talent—we are intentionally building a diverse, locally rooted and globally competitive talent pipeline. By equipping students with industry-aligned technical skills, certifications and work-based learning experiences, we’re creating real, high-wage career pathways. Today’s announcement underscores the power of intentional collaboration to widen access and opportunity, and it validates our district’s commitment to ensuring every student can rise to meet Michigan’s workforce needs.”

Stay far away, do not trust them with your kids education!

https://nypost.com/2025/11/14/opinion/ford-needs-workers-but-american-schools-arent-giving-them-the-education-needed/

" Ford needs workers, but American schools aren’t giving them the education needed "

Take a guess what they'll do to your child's options if you're on Ford's radar. They will ki-l the air you breathe until you have only Ford left. They start watching early and pick who they want and use the institutions to funnel them in. They are predators and groomers.. they will try to control your children. They will ki-l your child's future for their selfish gain and the people who play a part in capturing you get rewarded for the win. They plant stuff, they try to compromise you, meanwhile you think you're young and just navigating college. They get you earlier than that and try to control you. Trust me, I know.

  1. Mitchell Research & Communications, Inc. – Offers advocacy, political consulting, crisis communication, polling, and media relations across issues and campaigns.
  2. Harbor Strategic – Focuses on PR, public affairs, crisis communications, grassroots coalition building, and digital outreach.
  3. Truscott Rossman – Well-known Michigan PR firm doing public relations, strategic messaging, advocacy campaigns, and issue management.
  4. Bellwether Public Relations – Large PR agency with experience in public affairs and crisis communications tied to ballot initiatives and policy issues.
  5. Veer Consulting – Offers political and targeted communications services, including candidate and issue campaigns.
  6. The WinMatt Group – Government relations and public affairs strategy, often paired with advocacy efforts.
  7. Khoury Johnson Leavitt – Advocacy and strategic communication with connections across political networks.
  8. MHSA – Public policy and political analysis, advocacy support services.

Campbell Ewald – Major Detroit-based advertising agency with national experience and capacity for broad media campaigns.

JAC Advertising Consultants – Offers digital advertising and political campaign services (e.g., social and digital strategy).

Or maybe even APCO Worldwide?

I'll have to check public record sources, not speculation later on though to see what sort of specific issues or political efforts are being used through Michigan disclosures, or SIGMA. Ford also hires lobbyists, pr consultants registered as lobbyists. Of course their high-budget influence campaigns aren't public since those are private contracts and they wouldn't want a visible paper trail for this sort of thing. It is always worth a look to see what firm exactly would take a bid to destroy a kids life and make them look crazy for getting trafficked. They should go down too if anything happens

@ja The whitmer administration has been known for running smear campaigns to protect her political interests, at the cost of civilians, some no older than 22-23 when harmed by her allies. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/local/michigan/2018/07/16/schuette-campaign-whitmer-fundraiser-fbi/787972002/

Oakland county has been in the light recently for the same thing. They are willing shell lots of money for it too https://www.facebook.com/CBSDetroit/posts/the-attorney-for-jennifer-crumbley-alleges-that-the-oakland-county-prosecutors-o/1158997876235402/

It will come back to bite Ford hard if true. This is also why R&D should have a higher impact on tariff rates than manufacturing. Our nation is continuing its slide into a third world country as we place emphasis on physical manufacturing job roles with overall lower pay and bleed the jobs flooding out of the country. As a whole we are just sc--wed. This is however a good turning point for people to create their own businesses. A lot of this stems from too many of us depending on corporate slave careers instead of taking the leap to start something new. For those impacted, it is not the end, only the beginning of something new. Let’s usher in a new era of entrepreneurship.

Makes sense..as they close buildings east of Southfield..slowly moving a smaller end group to central campus. A smaller Ford in US and larger LCC in Brazil and Mexico. Mexico campus is busting with 4 days RTO.

@h4 Would you respond better if they engaged people with a rambling and aggressive tone for months on end? What do you consider success, and is this the path to achieving it?

@gm Mo-Ron take. Extremely low-T, HR-coded word salad. Less Rons would help. Did Whitmer sign off on this? And yeah, my testosterone took a hit reading this.

This is a lot of words to avoid engaging with what people are actually upset about.

@cy LL6 is also for technical leads. They don't have direct reports. I think its one of those ways to bump up salaries without going into management. Lots still do d&r work.

@cr Why are there LLs without direct reports? I was an external hire to Ford and was surprised to see LL6s without reports. It seems like that defeats the purpose of having a separate scale for GSRs and management.

@OP

When is something like this actually going to pan out? When will people like you stop with the talk and really have one of these things come true?

"Go ahead boy...skin that smoke wagon....you gonna do something'n or just stand there and bleed?"

In other words...talk is cheap, so that means you are too. Put up or $hut up, chump. You really have no idea and when it doesn't happen you'll just be another voice into the void the same as you are now.

If this is the case, then my 2020 Edge is the last vehicle I purchased from Ford. I am taking my dollars elsewhere for my next purchase.

Ford can continue to rack up warranty costs and counts. There is a price to pay for LLC engineering.
