I must agree, Do not involve HR, Your manager will absolutely hate you for ever and make your life miserable until you either quit or he fires you. You will never see a pay raise again, you will be blamed for everything that goes wrong, you will get the worst assignments.

@1jk It wouldn’t do any good. You would likely find yourself on a PIP and added to a list for a future RIF contingency plan months away when a quarterly or annual report is nearing that doesn’t look good.

HR is there to RIF you only and is one of worst run departments in the company which says something about the corporate culture of lack thereof.

My resolution is to move out of DFW. I feel like the place has been overrun by non-natives.

@1dr My boss talks nice to my face like he agrees with almost everything I say and then later has team meetings that contradict what we have said in private. I never know what he is going to do or say other than it would put him on a PIP if he did such things at other companies.

@1dr Ever thought about filing a complaint about your boss ? Creating an environment where you are not able to express your thoughts is HR violation especially if you fear for your safety. Is this company so far gone that management is only serving themselves ?

My resolution is to do as little as I possibly can and collect my pay for another year, it’s been working perfectly for years, tips to success are agree with everything the boss says, and have no pity for people around you, most of them will be talking cr-p about you behind your back anyway, it’s really pretty easy.

“Now my soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour.

One of my resolutions is to fully transition to apathy towards NCR, which they are doing a great job in creating the conditions for such a transition. The most professional approach is to stop complaining and work to solve your own problems the best way you can. Energy spent complaining and visiting this forum could be better spent on your exit plan from the company. You really don't want to carry this sour attitude to your next position or into your interviews.

@hm This thread makes me sick. I won't be walked on, but, as a Christian, I will do my best regardless of the actions of others.

My resolution is based on how the company has treated me the past 10 years.
First and foremost I will pretend to love my job, but do less and less to make up for the cr-ppy increases and loss of benefits.
I will not just quit at my age, lotta years vested and it’s not easy to jump jobs at my age, so with 5 more years left, I will be hold out hoping for termination and a package, maybe 2026 I make the list.

  1. stop being so miserable. Life’s too short, if you hate your job, find another place to work

Take all PTO and Sick Time. Put in 40 hours in the office, on site. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Do not call, email, or ask for favors outside of the 40 hour work week of 8am-5pm. Period.

The people who did more than the above, who cared, who stayed with the customer late, who were tenured, who trained new colleagues, were let go on a whim. None of those quality employee features mattered when times got tough for our world class company.

Wow, the office workers are the most miserable employees in the company. Constant bi--h fest. Waiting around for a “package”. What a negative New Year resolution. Company should cut their loses with these people, termination and no package.
