Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

DEI strikes again

Well.....just applied for a position at the HO - totally qualified. Submitted my application and within 5 seconds (I'm NOT exaggerating) - it stated my status as "NO LONGER UNDER CONSIDERATION."

I sent an email to the Talent Acquisition department and asked how it is that a response was sent immediately, when no recruiter would have had time to review?

The response / answer I received was "it was auto-disposition based on your answers."

Well, the ONLY questions I answered were regarding my race (white) and s-x.

Nah - same thing happened to me and I'm not white and have over 20 years experience and I even know the team leader. Immediately got sent a rejection letter as soon as I applied.

Can you resubmit the same resume but change those two answers to test it?

@1aq Not a bot and you can guess what happened when I tried again with DEI identifiers.

Is this a bot post to stir division? We all know that DEI is not to blame, it's the higher ups who want us to fight amongst each other while they stick their hands in our back pockets.

When are you going to realize that they don't want YOU and they don't want diversity either. They want MONEY! Not hiring you, not paying you benefits, not promoting you, and hiring offshore puts more money in their wallet. Stop blaming the DEI boogeyman and realize what's really going on!

But we can identify as anyone we want, right?

@mb - I am a white woman, answered the race questions honestly and have been immediately kicked out after submitting my applications. Like within seconds "no longer under consideration."

Jones isn’t even diverse what are you talking about? Basically just a horde of white women.

@OP do you remember back in 2019 when everyone hailed Penny as the hero of any and all DEI efforts??? Well here you go everyone! Go ahead and change your pronouns on Zoom and Outlook to they / them and you’ll be alright.

@a1 There’s plenty of things to file lawsuits against Penny with her Enterprise Reimagined.

@OP it’s because they are using AI to weed out candidates, just like everyone else that might be applying.

@OP Same thing happens when you apply for a job and you are already a contractor there.

Same thing happened to me. I applied at Fidelity Investments as a well-qualified individual with exact experience I needed for the job. They granted an in-person interview, right away, as they said they needed someone like me. I was turned down quickly afterwards.

I called HR on my phone and asked for the reason for the denial of an offer and they said "it was just our selection process." I asked for specifics and was met with the same phrase. Looking at the other applicants and employees who arrived at the job, I could only reason that it was my skin color. They needed to fill a diversity quota.

It's really too bad that diversity seems to be more important than competency!

Sounds like grounds for a lawsuit.
