I know layoffs are still looming and everybody is on edge but quitting so close to the end of the year and losing out on your bonus is hurting nobody but yourself. Two people I worked with quit at the start of December. That makes no sense at all to me. Not only are you losing out on your bonus but potential severance as well. Why?

L4 received their bonus in one fat check when they started. L5 and above get it monthly
Did they get new jobs?
Signing bonus? Raise?
Less freaking toxic workplace?
