Thread regarding GlobalFoundries layoffs

So all the 22nm, 12fdx and photonics is being back burnered. I've been here a long time and GF hasn't created a new product on its own.

So was told we will be slowing all the 12fdx, 22nm and photonics to make room for overflow from other gabs. We failed 20nm, 14nm where we then had to buy Smasungs tech, which is why we're are still in business. 7nm was as we know a Complete and utter dumpster. And now the new tech we have been building has to be nixed.

I'm sure the all-hands will explain how moving backwards saves them money. Soon we will be back at 28nm.

Senior talent has been leaving for a few years. Then in all it’s wisdom, GF offloads more senior talent in this first round of layoffs. Can’t make this stuff up. Lol Nothing but cheap seats left now.

Everything is failing because everyone is relearning, most of the senior talent is gone and somebthings cannot be documented.

The whole execution of brilliance was such a big fiasco. It was a simple thing get everyone head that was going to work on it on day 1 in a room have them sign the NDA sand get it done instead there were our egoistic management monkeys who thought that lowly us would not need to know anything and will be able to generate data as needed. Created roadblocks for months without anything done.

“GF can’t even copy homework right.”

Haha that hilarious and so true. He-l nearly internal employee systems and metrics are copy knocks from other companies. The levels/ranking, compass/yearly review, etc. are all bad copies of what better run companies do. The thing is our leadership, hr and management copied said systems, policies etc. BUT our managers and hr don’t understand how they are suppose to function or how to use them properly. They then divert and mutate into some weird pygmy abomination versions of their original function. Look around there is a ton of examples. In the case of compass they just gave up and use it a fake blanket system.

Globalfoundries really can’t copy homework right hahaha.

It happens when company prioritizes a-s lickers over merit. GF is hard to survive now as remaining talents will soon find way out to avoid toxic, scary and third tier management.

And you haven’t even mentioned Brilliance too. That project grinds people to dust and managers were strong-arming any ounce of productivity out of people and it still ends in a colossal failure with the last directive being delete everything Brilliance related of our laptop. And Brilliance is primarily a tech transfer.

GF can’t even copy homework right.
