Just in case anyone didn't notice it, TG and Nick said Everguard was being further restructured. What they mean by that is Everguard is being shutdown. Only a skeleton team for maintenance will be left to support our 1 actual customer.
If you are shutting down a product at least have the ba--s to the people who have slaved away at building this thing just to see it get flushed down the toilet.

I can tell you for a fact that in the EG layoffs there has been some efforts to keep top performers in the company. But on a personal level it sucks hard
The problem is that almost the entire EverGuard team has been sacrificed to protect the bloated engineering team. There’s been no attempt at levelling to keep the best people. We all know there is huge deadwood in that org. At all levels and in all regions.
Really the anger should be directed at the managers who allowed so much time and effort to be spent on something that had no future. But they’ve all gone as well.
The EG team was told exactly that, no? At least, that's what my neighbors heard.
You're right and Nick is right. It's not "sellable". But at least respect the engineers who worked on it enough to tell them what's going on without double speak.
Why should EverGuard keep going? Has it generated any useful profit?
Much more important to preserve the core engineering team, so this sacrifice was sad but necessary.
