Diamondback Rumors

Seems like this is the worse kept secret. It's been a bumpy road to integrate Pioneer assets with still a lot to be done. Please hold off on purchasing Diamondback and give us one more year to catch up.

The main only reason XOM is looking at Diamondback is to make sure the buyer does not get a good deal. Bid it up. like CVX did on Anadarko and making Oxy overpay. If you cannot beat a competitor, then help him lose and you win.

XOM should always show up and it forces others to overpay.

Imo the lower the price of oil drops, the greater the chance we pull the trigger and acquire.

It will be viewed as a discount on the underlying acreage.

The merge will probably have less consideration vs. the Pioneer merger.

@kb bp? They are half bankrupt barely making a profit.
Unlikely that any non US major could acquire
with current admin.

Shell, Total, BP and COP are also in the hunt. I suspect XOM will not make a competitive bid, since XOM position is higher quality

They're going to have to replace all the pioneer people who quit somehow
