Don't expect to work there forever. Your buddy will eventually be laid off unless he/she is one of their graudate programs and is targeted for upper management one day. I believe it was called the Challenge Programme? Can't remember.
Yes its an excellent company to work for. Do not assume that the vast majority of the employees are sniveling whiners like most of those posting here.
Look at the company’s performance for the past 20 years and there’s your answer.
it is great, respected, has an all-star executive team, has been increasing in market cap for decades, and rarely does reorgs or layoffs. it is nirvana for employees and shareholders.
