Morenci will be completed by 2040, but there will be many of miners lose their jobs by 2030 or 2035.
Now, there are not much copper remaining in the ground except for low ore grade (16-27%). They will process those reserve by 2030, and that means many of them will be gone.
I don’t think they would want to spend too much money for extracting low grade copper from those rocks. It will be inefficient.
