@2vt
So we’re in agreement.
@26y ah yes because those people will never get another job I suppose. Companies are not charities. They don't keep people employed so they can "buy more stuff", they keep people employed to make more money for the company. When they don't, they get laid off. It's really simple math here. You may not like it, but that's the way it is.
@26y This is solved via their Enterprise Agreements and price hikes.
@179 sure… I wonder how these companies plan on making money once they let go of 80% of their employees due to AI… all fine and dandy to cut costs and mass layoffs.. but how do you actually make money afterwards if no one has jobs to pay for the bills and food??? Anything else becomes extra. By definition, these companies are digging their own graves already. That better think of a better plan to employ AI in a smart way to help they employees become productive and make more money so they can buy more products, not less…
Impacted employees will be informed the week of Jan 19.
There will be some top-level shuffling, if it hasn't already happened, and large re-organizations / layoffs to follow as the new upper echelon looks to make their marks.
You are going to see layoffs sky rocket as AI becomes more powerful and begins to replace human jobs exponentially.
Yes
