It’s not bad, but it’s nothing special either. Still, after months of searching for alternatives, it feels like a win. And I really, really need to leave Dell behind. This past year has been something I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. Fingers crossed it works out. I’ll be keeping them crossed for all of you as well. May we all eventually liberate ourselves from the twisted parallel universe Dell has fallen into.

@b7 I actually flocked back to the company I worked at prior to Dell because it's overall a better company with better growth potential and more interesting work for comparable pay.
I learned a lot during my time at Dell but I will never again work for a tech company.
@fn how does one find a job coach?
I think it’s how you tell the story of your time at Dell that will count, not as some badge, “I worked Dell, do you know x ” but about you and how you can help the people who interview you. We’re mostly low stakes players here, the first trick is getting the interview.
Good luck. Felice Navidad..
"dell on the resume it looks great"
uh, no. hard disagree.
at best it has zero bearing on your career. It certainly does not make you more marketable.
More likely, if you stay to long, it's a negative.
@b7 Honestly, I feel this is actually true, at least to an extent... My friend was let go a few years ago (an ISR lvl 3) and found a new job at another large company, though not as big as Dell, and SO many people are leaving that company to go BACK to Dell. He's even considering it. Him aside though, I know quite a few people who either quit or were laid off in the past 5 years who are either back at Dell or are coming back.
Grass isn't always greener on the other side...
Life after Dell has been fantastic. I am not just saying this because after 13 years of hard work Dell ditched me to the curb. At Dell your skills will plateau because of the projects you work on have narrow guardrails with budget and resource limits to the point where life at Dell becomes Groundhog Day - the movie, where every day blends together repeating perpetually. Complainers on this site include a portion of those that like endless stream of consistency with no challenge. Leaving Dell increased my salary, provided a leadership opportunity, new challenges and, most importantly, excitement for what awaits each day. My professional job coach that aided in the search said it best - “Dell was a great experience and on the resume it looks great; until the 6 yr mark. You stayed 7 more years too long.”
Good work. Glad you got out.
People are flocking back to DELL and you are leaving DELL. misguided decision.
I'm leaving the week after Christmas.
congrats. Hope you know it's the beginning of a better future no matter.
staying at dell is wasting away.
Best of luck! There truly is life after Dell.
Congrats and welcome to the club!! I also got an offer from a competitor and took a pay cut BUT the new company is growing so the future looks much better.
I didn’t get severance either but turns out it wasn’t in the picture as they are actually replacing me. So my role is currently open and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
Well done you!
