If you exceed expectations, make sure it's because you did things that will elevate your resume in preparation to leave.
Does not meet: 1% - 0%
Meets: 2%
Exceeds: 2%
Excessively Exceeds: 2%
God like performance: 2%
Exceeds God: 2%

They fund the merit pool at X per person (let's say 2%) so anyone who exceeds or significantly exceeds has takes $ from the meets expectations. I don't manage people anymore but they didn't fund differently for promotions so it all came out of the 2% pool per person. I really hope that has changed.
No one knows the $$$ attached to merit or incentive considerations. Typically, the direction is to start around 2.85% for all and go up or down from there.
Doesn’t mean much. You will get meets expectations and the usual 1-2%
