Upper Management Departures

Rohit Prasad: Senior Vice President and Head Scientist for Amazon's artificial general intelligence (AGI) business is leaving at the end of December 2025.

Robin Williams: The Vice President of Device Software and Services and a member of the elite S-team (an internal advisory group to the CEO) is retiring and will leave the company by the end of 2025.

Vasi Philbin: The VP and General Manager of Generative AI at Amazon Web Services (AWS), who led the development of the Amazon Bedrock platform, left the company in June 2025 for another firm.

Karthik Ramakrishnan: A VP in the AGI division, known for his work on Alexa and Echo devices, also departed in September 2025.

Krishan Bhatia: The VP of Global Video Advertising left Amazon in September 2025 after less than two years in the role.

Dilip Kumar: The VP of AWS Applications, who oversaw the Quick Suite AI project and previously the "Just Walk Out" technology, is also stepping down from his role in late 2025.

Swami Sivasubramanian: Head of AI Services and Data is also planning to step down.

Yann LeCun would be like $20M/year - way more than Swami. And almost half of what Jassy earns for doing.... layoffs!

If Swami leaves, Amazon can poach Yann LeCu to replace Swami. No big deal.

I think everyone is planning to step down eventually. Jassy isn't going to be working until he's 70. Bezos retired from Amazon at 57, Jassy is turning 58 in January. Steve Ballmer left Microsoft at 57. Once they leave, the flat growth converts to actual upside.

It says that Swami is planning to step down - not that he is stepping down. OpenAI/Meta could easily poach him for $20M/yr, so it's not surprising... only to be followed by more reorg activity.

@OP, where did you get that last info? There’s no news indicating that Swami Sivasubramanian is stepping down. Recent updates show him at a number of AWS events, and I can’t find any rumors of departure, either here or on Reddit.
