YL repeatedly promotes the ‘This is Shell’ moto, yet his messaging focuses almost entirely on LNG, Trading, and short-term shareholder value. If this is truly Shell’s identity now, what does that mean for the rest of the company? What should the logo or tagline really be?

It translates to let's keep our motto and must wins at such a high level that no one is held accountable when cr-p hits the fan.
it means
dddeeeeeeeeezzzz nnuuutttsssss 🌰 🥜
My guess is it’s YL’s bad rendition of Gerard Butler in 300 kicking people to the curb during his countless rounds of layoffs! ….. THIS IS SPARTA!!!!!
It’s a poor branding effort that’s intended to signal a new era of the company. Like most things in the corporate world today, it’s word salad nothingness that gets lost in the abyss. It’s like Cr--ker Barrel trying to change its logo into some generic run of the mill one size fits all approach. It lacks creativity, purpose, vision, energy, etc. It’s also oddly similar sounding to “This is He-l.” YL runs this place like a private equity firm.
I imagine that he believes he is king Leonidas and you are the Phoenician right before he kicks them off the ledge to fall to their death. " This is Sparta!, errr um I mean SHELL!" He's letting you know that he's starting to kick you out of "his" company. Either you are a part or you are out.
It means he's a re--rd who spent corporate funds on advice from branding experts and then listened to them. And it means he's a na--d emperor who is not fit to lead the company out of the wilderness.
Oldsmobile is a real car for real people like you!
“this is shell” doesn’t mean anything
the closest thing to meaning it has is propaganda
the leadership team is holding town halls every month or even biweekly instead of every quarter. and yet, these town halls never have any information delivered in them
it’s because, just like “this is shell”, just like celebrating birthdays, and just like the town halls flood, it is nothing more than a tool to control the narrative and increase retention despite compensation and benefits going down and work outside of india at all time lows
