Thread regarding BD (Becton Dickinson & Co.) layoffs

Done this year?

Are we done with this year? When is the next layoff scheduled? After Q1 result or later?

Wasting so much money on useless things and then not even paying full bonus. BD ranks number one among shi*tty companies.

@188 place is floundering because the id--ts are running the asylum and id--ts always surround themselves with bigger id--ts so they have someone to point the finger at. Sad state of affairs. Anyone with any sense will gladly volunteer for the next round

@169

I see one gang member hands a certificate to another all the time, even though both of them have no clue about the subject. It was accidental comedy at its finest. BD TGS is living proof that when clowns get promoted, a decent place can transform into circus before anyone even finishes the popcorn. Don’t be shocked if a BD ‘leader’ starts lecturing on quantum physics after skimming one weekend article—by Monday he’ll be introducing himself as Prof. of Quamtum Physics.

@139 yes TGS was corrupted by Coty and restructuring hasn't helped - but I believe by far that the worst of the worst are non-Coty and in the GBS org which is now comprised of people who have not one clue how any of the transactional systems function, how their own processes work or have any idea how to keep talent that actually DID know. TGS struggles when there is no business guidance and there is none to be had. It is truly frightening how clueless everyone is - by the time they finish "fixing" things with their Kaisans etc there will be no amount of IT support that will be able to save them. Buzz words, being "too busy" to attend meetings, handing off to lower level folks who can't contribute, metrics that mean nothing - its a clown car full of mental mid-ets

@rn Coty problem is true for TGS, most of the dead weight came straight from Coty, and they hired and promoted more of their own, which tanked the quality even further. And if we’re talking about the bigger picture, BD probably has one of the worst IT teams in the entire industry. However, why business and R an D also struggling?

@bk agree. And on the bonus topic, I think it's a way to entice employees to leave so they can avoid the cost of layoffs. Pay out in some cases is considerably less than target, and if you didn't get the full 100% of the individual performance bonus despite a good performance review because someone else got more than 100%, what incentive is there to keep putting in the same effort? Put in 100% effort, good performance review, but less than 100% of your 80% bonus.... yeah, let's disincentivize our employees who have historically low morale already to keep performing, caring. And BD says they value their employees?

@bk BD has a Coty problem. It was a beautiful, employee friendly, efficient organization. Then some corrupt id--ts were hired from Coty and here we are. Check Coty’s performance in last 5 years 😄😃

A large, unnecessary group of people flew business class to India — no points for guessing their ethnicity — to do who knows what, while here in the U.S. they’re laying people off.

Anyone can be corrupt, but when a joker gets power, he will almost certainly abuse it. Without a change at the CXO level, this circus will never stop

A billion dollar stock buy back across the fiscal year only to fund bonuses at only 80+ % (depending on your role) is a really bad look for the execs IMO.
